Barbara Helen Batty, 88, resident of Harbor Chase, Lady Lake, FL, died on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 while under the care of hospice.

Mrs. Batty was born in Lawrence, MA. She owned the Yarn Barn in Glastonbury, CT. She traveled the world during her 15-year career as a Certified Travel Consultant. She visited 42 countries and 32 states. Seven safaris in Africa, especially Kenya, were her favorite destinations.

After retiring to FL in 1991, she volunteered as a docent for the Citrus County Historical Society as well as the Ted Williams Museum. She enjoyed her hobbies of decorating her 26 dollhouses, reading, jigsaw and crossword puzzles. She loved watching her Red Sox, Rays, golf and loved her Teddy Bear collection.

Mrs. Batty is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Eric Batty.

Survivors include daughters Cheryl Purvis, Pamela Pezzulo, Lynne Urban and Joy Ames; son Dana Batty; 9 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 13, 2017 at 11 am, located at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
