Village Voices Chorus celebrates 20th season with pair of concerts Monday and Tuesday

The Village Voices Chorus continues the celebration of its 20th season this week with its fall concert.

The Chorus will perform Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 17-18, at 6 p.m. in the North Lake Presbyterian Church, 975 Rolling Acres Rd.

Conductor John T. Lowe, Jr. will be playing one of two organs in one section of the concert. Sean Pollock will play the other organ.

That means Dr. Sandra Willetts, who had conducted the Chorus for nearly a decade, will return to conduct for that section.

The history of the Chorus stretches back to 1995, when it started out in The Villages as the Pennsylvanians Chorus. Back then it had about 30 members, but now boasts about 130 singers.

Wayne Cunkelman is one of them. He is a former president of the Chorus and has been with the group since 1997.
