Convicted sex offender/armed robber moves into Village of Winifred

A convicted sex offender recently released from a Michigan prison has moved into the Village of Winifred.

Jonathan David Pentz, 39, registered his sex offender status with the Florida Department of Corrections this past week. He was convicted in 2000 of a sex offense involving a minor between the ages of 13 and 15 in Oakland, Mich. He was also convicted of carrying a concealed weapon in 2000.

He was also convicted in 2005 of the armed robberies of gas stations and a Radio Shack in Canton, Wayne and Westland, Mich.

He has moved in with David and Rita Pentz at 607 Sherwood St.

He will remain under the supervision of the Florida Department of Corrections until Sept. 29, 2018.
