A Villager is free on $1,000 bond following his weekend arrest on a charge of driving under the influence.

Kevin David O’Connell, 62, of 705 Melendez Way was arrested Friday night by Lady Lake police.

O’Connell told a police officer who pulled him over that he was on his way home from performing with a band at the Tropic Theater in Leesburg, according to an arrest report. He said he had consumed, “just a light beer.”

He failed field sobriety exercises and was arrested on a charge of DUI. He was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting bond.

On Easter Sunday, O’Connell had been arrested after a fight with a woman over a cell phone. You can read about that arrest HERE
