Man arrested at car wash after allegedly pulling fake hair from woman’s head

A 54-year-old man was arrested in Lady Lake after he allegedly pulled fake hair from the head of a woman during an argument over who would drive.

Michael B. Raiford of Weirsdale was arrested at 12:22 a.m. Wednesday at Atlantis Car Wash on U.S. 441 in Lady Lake, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

They were in the car when Raiford decided he wanted to drive. He allegedly pushed her with an open hand and choked her when she would not hand over the keys, according to the arrest report. He then pulled her hair, which was fake, and detached it from her head.

He was arrested on a charge of battery and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. Bond was seen at $2,000.
