A 72-year-old arrested last year after an altercation with a woman has landed back behind bars.

David William Tolleson was jailed without bond Thursday at the Sumter County Detention Center. He has been charged with violating his probation.

In December, he had been placed on three years probation. He was also ordered to undergo drug and alcohol evaluation and was prohibited from owning a firearm.

He had been arrested in 2015 on charges of battery, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug equipment after a woman reported that Tolleson had choked her and kicked her in the buttocks in front of her grandson. When Sumter County sheriff’s deputies went to Tolleson’s home in the Village of Virginia Trace, they found methamphetamine and drug equipment. You can read more about the original arrest HERE
