A 54-year-old Home Depot cashier has been arrested on a charge of grand theft after she allegedly stole $495 from her employer.

Nancy Lee Kligfeld of Summerfield is accused of conducting six transactions from Feb. 28 through May 5 and pocketing the money. A customer would come in with defective merchandise and she would allow the customer to make an even exchange without processing it through the register. Once the exchange was completed and the customer left the store, Kligfeld would issue a store credit via a gift card and keep it for herself, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

She was arrested at 6:55 p.m. Thursday and booked at the Lake County Jail. She was released after posting $4,000 bond.
