The Morse South Gate is the busiest gate in The Villages, according to the District Office.
Morse Boulevard is used by many people to move from County Road 466 to U.S. Hwy. 27/441 and thousands of vehicles pass through the Morse South entry gates every hour during the daylight hours.
Additional gate attendants are staffing the Morse South Gate (9 a.m. to 3 p.m. during non-peak and 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. during peak season) to assist with gate operation. With the additional attendant, scheduled breaks are possible for the attendants. This improves their alertness and provides for an overall safe operation at the gate, according to the District Office. The additional attendant is also able to address any safety issues occurring around the gatehouse, such as gate strikes and other traffic problems.
“We are continuously looking to improve our operations and make this a safe community for all residents, guests and visitors,” the District Office said in its Welcome Wednesday report.
