Ted Williams’ daughter set to highlight Boston Red Sox event

Legendary ball player Ted Williams’ daughter will highlight a very special Boston Red Sox-themed event Sunday at Lake Sumter Landing.

Claudia Williams, who recently made an appearance before the Red Sox Nation Club, will sign copies of her book about her father at an event that begins at noon.

Fresh from the frozen north, the Boston Red Sox equipment truck will be coming to The Villages.

The truck left Boston this week, bound for spring training in Fort Myers. But the stop in The Villages comes first.

The equipment truck will include:

·  20,400 baseballs

· 1,100 bats

· 200 batting gloves

· 200 batting helmets

· 320 batting practice tops

· 160 white game jerseys

·  300 pairs of pants

· 400 t-shirts

· 400 pairs of socks

· 20 cases of bubble gum

· 60 cases of sunflower seeds

Villagers are encouraged to come out for Sunday’s event.
