A pregnant woman was one of two people transported from the scene of an accident at 5:11 p.m. Friday at Morse Boulevard and County Road 466A.

The pregnant woman’s SUV was one of three vehicles involved in the accident at an intersection that has seen its share of recent collisions. A man driving a four-door luxury sedan was also transported from the scene.

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, Villages Public Safety Department and Community Watch were all on the scene of the accident.

Ken and Carol Taft of the Village of Gilchrist, who were not injured, had been driving north on Morse Boulevard, headed to dinner at Lake Sumter Landing, when the accident occurred. An air bag deployed in the cab of their large four-door pickup.

“We’re just happy to be OK,” Carol Taft said.

The accident remained under investigation Friday evening.
