Jim Brockman has been appointed as a supervisor in Community Development District 4, succeeding Rich Lambrecht who resigned earlier this year.

Brockman, a resident of the Village of Chatham, was chosen among a field of three applicants. The other applicants were Cliff Wiener and Michael Galco.

Brockman is a Region 4 director of the Villages Homeowners Association. He will have to resign from that position in order to serve on CDD 4. (It is a VHA requirement he do so, Brockman said.)

The selection was made Friday afternoon by CDD 4 supervisors Don Deakin, Jim Murphy and Charles Kazlo. CDD 4 Supervisor Paul Kelly was not present and could not vote, but sent word in advance of the meeting saying he wished to see Brockman appointed to the seat.

Deakin was chosen to succeed Lambrecht as a CDD 4 representative on the Amenity Authority Committee. He was the only applicant.

Deakin is a regular attendee at AAC meetings. Lambrecht, who stepped aside after suffering a stroke earlier this year, had expressed his desire to see Deakin succeed him on AAC.

“It is really regretful Mr. Lambrecht can’t continue to serve. He will be greatly missed,” Deakin said. “I am very honored to be chosen for this position. I hope I can live up to your expectations.”

Deakin’s term on AAC will run through 2016.
