The Villages Twirlers and Drum Corps will be celebrating Fourth of July on three squares in three hours this Friday, July 4.

They were out practicing Monday morning at Lake Sumter Landing.

“It’s going to be exhausting, but if anybody can do it, we can,” said Villages Twirlers Captain Ann Pelle.

The Twirlers were out bright and early Monday morning, despite the fact they spent many hours in Sunday’s heat providing a warm welcome for drivers from across the globe finishing in the 2,000-mile Great Race at Lake Sumter Landing Market Square.

Those at the square were thrilled to see the Twirlers.

Village of Collier resident Joann Dunphy had her grandsons, 8-year-old Brady Dunphy and 5-year-old Matthew Dunphy, at the square. The boys were delighted to have the opportunity to bang the drum of one member of the corps.

At each of their patriotic performances on Friday, the Twirlers will pass out tiny American flags. They will distribute 1,200 flags at each square, 3,600 flags in all.

On Friday, you can catch The Villages Twirlers and Drum Corps at the following times:

• 5:45 p.m. Brownwood Paddock Square

• 6:45 p.m. Lake Sumter Landing Market Square

• 7:45 p.m. Spanish Springs Town Square
