DOT stands firm in opposition to stoplight at U.S. 301 and County Road 472

The Department of Transportation is standing firm in its opposition to a stoplight at U.S. 301 and County Road 472 in Wildwood.

“As a city and county we are disappointed,” Jason McHugh, Development Services Coordinator for the city of Wildwood.

A Kangaroo gas station built there has dramatically increased activity at the intersection.

The topic came up Wednesday evening at the Wildwood Citizens Advisory Committee.

“It’s amazing what one little gas station can do,” said CAC Chairman Ron Reader.

McHugh noted that some high-density apartment complexes are also in the planning stages for nearby the intersection.
