Pinellas Plaza will add a new restaurant to its list of businesses on Tuesday when Square 1 Burgers & Bar will open to the public for business. After months of planning and preparations, the burger bar, which serves premium burgers in a variety of options including elk and lamb and offers a full bar to patrons, will open for business at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, April 8.
Square 1 took the last week to prepare, train and accustom staff to run the facility. The restaurant’s normal hours of operation will be from around 11:00 AM until at least 10:00 PM every night. Founder and co-owner Joanie Corneil also indicated that the restaurant is looking into possibly staying open later in an effort to provide dining options to interested patrons at that hour.
Located at the end of the plaza, the restaurant is decked out with western themed furniture and artwork, a full service bar, outside patio seating, and a collection of large “cow-hide” booths for larger parties. The restaurant boasts a menu something for everyone, and those looking to try a non-beef burger can choose between buffalo, turkey, and lamb among a handful of other options.
Originally Tampa-based, the restaurant grew so popular that the company was able to add locations all over south Florida, including St Petersburg and Fort Meyers. They pride themselves on providing a dining experience unlike any other burger joint, or restaurant for that matter, and will hope to bring the same level of service in The Villages.
