The oldie “One is the Loneliest Number” doesn’t exactly get them out on the dance floor with the Villages Singles Club.
In this club, no one is sad and no one is lonely. But they do love to dance.
Club member Carole Oliver of the Village of Chatham is both widowed and divorced. She isn’t looking for marriage.
“I am just looking for fun. Here there is no pressure,” she said.
Dottie Kempton of the Village of Ashland agreed.
“We have fun. Big time,” she said.
Members of the Villages Singles Club gathered Saturday evening at Brownwood Paddock Square.
The Villages Singles Club meets the first and third Monday at La Hacienda Recreation Center. The members also get together at 5 p.m. Fridays at The Pub (formerly Crazy Gringos) to dance.
