THE VILLAGES – Theodore “Ted” D. Waldeck, 78, of The Villages, entered into eternal life, Tuesday, August 14, 2013. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Theodore and Jessie (Shields) Waldeck. Ted was a New York City Fire Fighter and retired after 28 years of service. He was a member of the Moose Lodge of Port Jefferson, NY and was an avid New York Mets and New York Giants fan. He came to the Villages from Port Jefferson, NY in 1996. He was of the Catholic faith and member of St. Timothy Catholic Community. He enjoyed listening to the music of Frank Sinatra and the 60s and 70s. He enjoyed playing golf, cards, and softball. He was a people person who loved life and being around his friends and neighbors. Ted was a member of the Retired Fire Fighters Local #343, The Villages. A passionate man, Ted was most proud of his wife of 57 years, Charlotte, and his 4 children. He leaves his wife, Charlotte (Main) Waldeck, his daughter, Arlene Greene of Victorville, CA, son, Daniel Waldeck and wife Maria of Port Jefferson Station, NY, son, Theodore Waldeck, Jr., of Las Vegas, Nevada, daughter, Lisa Waldeck of Ridge, NY, his sister, Joan Darragh of Greenpoint, NY, 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. The family will receive relatives and friends at a visitation to be held at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages on Friday, August 16, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Timothy Catholic Church, The Villages on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 8:30 a.m. Committal services will be held in New York at a later date.
