Woman in truck with expired tag found to have methamphetamine

A woman driving a truck with an expired tag was found to have methamphetamine in her possession Monday afternoon at U.S. Hwy. 27/441 and County Road 466.

Vanessa Irene Connell, 28, of Fruitland Park, had been driving a Toyota Tacoma with a tag that had expired in December, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. During a search of the vehicle, a police officer found a capped syringe which tested positive for methamphetamine.

She was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

She was booked at the Lake County Jail on $3,000 bond.
