Woman dies as result of weekend motorcycle accident

A woman has died as the result of a weekend motorcycle accident at the intersection of Rolling Acres Road and County Road 466.

Diane Lanthier, 58, of Clermont had been a passenger on a Harley-Davidson tricycle driven by Bryan Barnash, 58, also of Clermont, according to the Lady Lake Police Department. They had been traveling east on County Road 466 at 9:16 p.m. when their motorcycle rear-ended a 2016 Dodge Dart driven by Christopher Salas, 21, of Lady Lake.

Lanthier and Barnash were airlifted from the scene to Ocala Regional Medical Center. Neither of them had been wearing helmets.   

Salas was not injured. His passenger, Anastasia Earl, 18, of Fruitland Park, was treated at a local hospital for neck and back pain and released.

Lanthier died at 10:31 p.m. Wednesday as the result of injuries suffered in the crash.

Barnash remains in stable condition at Ocala Regional Medical Center. The investigation is ongoing and alcohol use is suspected. Blood alcohol test results are pending.
