Woman arrested on DUI charge during drive home from Waterfront Inn

Teresa Lynn Snyder

A woman was arrested on a drunk driving charge on her drive home Tuesday night from the Waterfront Inn at Lake Sumter Landing.

Teresa Lynn Snyder, 44, of Ocala, shortly after 10 p.m. came to a stop in the middle of the intersection at County Road 466 and U.S. 301, attracting the attention of Sumter County sheriff’s deputies.  A deputy approached Snyder’s vehicle and found that her speech was slurred and slow and there was the smell of alcohol coming from her mouth, according to the arrest report.

Snyder told deputies she had left the Waterfront Inn and was on her way home.

During field sobriety exercises, Snyder made “antagonizing faces” at a deputy and lost her balance. She refused to provide a breath sample.

A criminal history check revealed she had been convicted in 2016 for failure to submit to a breath test in Marion County.

She was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $3,000 bond.
