The Wildwood police chief assisted in the arrest Tuesday afternoon of a Fruitland Park man on a cocaine charge.

Chief E.W. Reeser was on the scene of traffic stop on State Road 44 at 3 p.m. when a backup officer arrived.

When the driver, 27-year-old Joshua Michael Lusby, stepped out of his vehicle, the chief and the other office spotted a bag of crack cocaine in the pocket of the driver’s door.

Lusby was charged with cocaine possession and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. Bond was set at $2,000.
