Walk, don’t run, to see ‘Last Vegas’

By J.R. “Jim” Zurak

Walk – Don’t run to see Last Vegas because it will be playing in The Villages until at least Easter. This is the perfect Villages Movie. The cast is emotionally and generationally cast to perfection. Michael Douglas, Robert DeNiro, Kevin Kline and Morgan Freeman bring to the screen all of the stereotypes that are associated with “old” people but they do it in a gentle and loving way that younger patrons won’t fully appreciate. Michael Douglas is a 70 something, financially successful, never married bachelor who accidentally proposes to his 30 something girl friend who is sitting in the church as Michel is delivering a friends eulogy. Now if you can begin to understand the irony of that miscue, wait till you see what happens when his 3 best forever friends of 60 years decide to throw him a bachelor party in Las (Lost) Vegas. If it is any indicator, there was a long line in front of The Old Mill for the 10:30 Monday morning showing that was waiting for the theater to open. Rating: “P” for the Perfect movie for all of the Perfect People who live in America’s friendliest home town. Enjoy.
