The Womens 4.0 team from The Villages representing Marion County USTA Florida Adult 55 & Over Sectional Championships USTA Florida Adult 55 & Over Sectional Championships this weekend at The Florida Tennis Center in Daytona, Florida. won both of their matches Friday. The Villages women defeated the team from Hillsborough County by a score of 2-1 at The Florida Tennis Center in Daytona, Florida. . Elfie Meyer and Coleen Wells teamed up to win at the number one doubles spot. Robin Munsey and Linda Jones also won at the number three doubles position.
The Villages team defeated the ladies representing Polk County by a score of 2-1. Meyer and Wells again earned a victory and Linda Jones and Bea Skvarca gained the other win.
The Villages team plays Saturday morning at 8:15 a.m. against Indian River. The Villages women will be seeking a win to gain a semifinal berth in the tournament.
