Villages Homeowners Association unveils AAC, CDD endorsements

Lowell Barker has won the endorsement of the Villages Homeowners Association Executive Committee in the race for the Amenity Authority Committee.

The VHA endorsed Barker over his two rivals, Frank Kirschenheiter and Richard Jones.

The three men are in a race to succeed Jo Weber in Lady Lake/Lake County.

Barker, who is not a VHA member, was surprised to receive the association’s backing over his two opponents, who are VHA members.

“I’m flattered and honored to receive the VHA endorsement,” Barker said.

The VHA has also endorsed two AAC incumbents, Ann Forrester and Carl Bell. In District 1, Bell faces Tom Fetherling. In District 2,  Forrester is facing former AAC member Marty Rothbard.

Here are other endorsements announced by the VHA:

CDD 1

The VHA endorsed incumbents Ellen Cora and Clyde Long. Cora faces a challenge from Craig Estep for Seat 2. Long faces a challenge from Peter Pittsburgh for Seat 4.

CDD 5

The VHA endorsed incumbent Gerald Knoll who faces a challenge from Carolyn Reichel for Seat 2.

CDD 6

Incumbent Russ D’Emidio won the VHA endorsement over challenger Donna M. Kempa.

CDD 7 

The VHA endorsed Dennis Broedlin over Joseph O. Schlosser. They are running for Seat 1 which is currently held by Niles Getz who opted not to seek re-election.

CDD 8

Incumbent Duane Johnson, who faces a challenge for Seat 4 from Ray J. Banks, won the VHA’s endorsement.

In the race between Victor Ray and Dick Wedding for Seat 3, the VHA chose to make no endorsement.

“To the best of our ability we have endorsed candidates that have demonstrated through their actions the qualifications to represent residents on the Amenity Authority Committee (AAC) and Community Development District (CDD),” the VHA said in making the endorsements.
