Villages Daily Sun operations manager killed along with stepson during home invasion

A Villages Daily Sun operations manager and his teenage stepson were killed in a home invasion robbery early Sunday morning in Weirsdale.

Marion County sheriff’s deputies responded to 14241 SE 151st Place Road in Weirsdale after receiving a 911 call.

Found dead at the scene were 18-year-old Bailey Zylo and 38-year-old Andy Fockler. Fockler was the owner of the home, according to records from the Marion County Property Appraiser’s Office. He worked for nearly two decades at the Daily Sun press facility on Rolling Acres Road.

The two were reportedly shot.

Other family members in the home were not injured.

The assailants were described as black men wearing masks.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office Crisis Intervention specialists have been made available for grief counseling to family members of the victims.
