Two Villagers were arrested by a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy Wednesday morning after they allegedly were engaged in sexual activity on a utility box at Morse Boulevard and El Camino Real.

A Sumter County sheriff’s deputy was called at 8:42 a.m. after being alerted by a worker in the area.

Upon arrival the deputy discovered a man and a woman, naked and fully engaged in sex.

The woman has been identified as Charm Ann Gilbert, 40, of the Village of Tierra Del Sol. The man involved in the incident is James Richard Adams, 47, of the Village of Orange Blossom Gardens.

They are both facing charges of indecent exposure and disturbing the peace.

According to the arrest affidavits, Gilbert’s shirt was pulled up over her breasts and her shorts and underwear were off. Adams sexual organ was fully exposed and he was standing in front of her, according to the arrest report.

Upon arrival, the deputy immediately ordered the two to get dressed.

Adams told the deputy he and Gilbert had been having sex at the location “due to them not having any other place to go,” the arrest report indicated.

The deputy’s report noted the couple had been in full view of the public.

Both were transported to the Sumter County Detention Center where bond was set at $1,500 each.

This is the second time Gilbert has been in trouble this summer.

On July 30, she and another man were involved in an early morning “beer run” that resulted in their arrests. The pair had stolen a case of beer from Circle K North at 3 La Grande Blvd. in The Villages and fled in a golf cart.

Lady Lake police later arrested the pair at a home on Dustin Drive on the Historic Side of The Villages.

On Aug. 22 in Lake County Court, Judge Donna Miller sentenced Gilbert to probation in that case. Gilbert still owes $1,067.50 in fines and fees in that case, according to court records.

Wednesday’s arrests come on the heels earlier this year of the arrests of a Villager and a Summerfield man who were having sex on the square at Lake Sumter Landing.

Villager Margaret Klemm, 68, and David Bobilya, 49, are currently serving six-month sentences in the Sumter County Detention Center. Both pled no contest to charges of disorderly intoxication and indecent exposure.

That case caused a firestorm of publicity which spread across the country and around the globe.
