A Village of Glenbrook woman who was arrested last year after ramming a McDonald’s sign and kicking a police officer has been ordered into anger management.
Catherine Ellen Johnson, 46, was arrested last year after her red SUV deliberately rammed the sign at the McDonald’s on U.S. Hwy. 27/441 in Lady Lake.
Law enforcement had been called to the scene after Johnson’s red SUV was reportedly driving “crazy through the parking lot.” She “purposely” drove into the sign causing $15,000 in damage, according to an arrest report.
When an officer asked her why she had driven into the sign, she said she didn’t like McDonald’s. After she was placed in the back of a patrol car, she was able to remove one of the handcuffs in which she had been placed. When an officer got Johnson out of the car to re-secure her, she kicked the officer in the thigh.
While she was free on bond, Johnson was arrested again after she skipped a court date.
Last month, Johnson’s attorney Cary Rada negotiated a deal by which Johnson will escape prosecution by entering into a pre-trial intervention program.
Johnson is required to complete 12 hours of anger management. And she is banned from that McDonald’s restaurant.
