
A Villager was arrested after he reportedly deliberately rammed his SUV into a garage door in the Village of Polo Ridge.
A witness saw 67-year-old John Ginnetti drive a Ford Expedition into the garage door of the home located behind the Southern Trace Professional Plaza at 3:23 p.m. Friday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. After ramming the garage door once, Ginnetti back up and ran into it a second time, the arrest reported indicated. The damage was in excess of $1,000.
Ginnetti formerly lived at the residence.
A deputy contacted Ginnetti on his cell phone, but Ginnetti denied having been at the residence. When the deputy asked Ginnetti what type of vehicle he drove, Ginnetti hung up.
On Sunday night, a deputy located Ginnetti at the Budget Inn in Wildwood and arrested him on a felony charge of criminal mischief. He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $2,000 bond.
