A 46-year-old resident of The Villages was arrested after she allegedly attempted to steal pink Susan G. Kohmen clothing from Wal-Mart.
Laura Kathleen Gillette of 2010 Alfredo Ave. in The Villages was taken into custody at 3:24 p.m. Saturday at Wal-Mart in Leesburg, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.
She was stopped by loss prevention officers after she allegedly attempted to leave the store with yoga pants and other items of clothing, much of it pink and cancer-awareness themed. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.
A criminal history check showed that Gillette has three prior retail theft convictions in New York. It also showed that Gillette is currently on probation in Sumter County for cocaine possession.
She was booked at the Lake County Jail.
She had been arrested earlier this year on drug charges.
