A Village of Springdale woman is thus far the lone applicant for a vacancy on the Community Development District 4 Board of Supervisors.
Janet Bassett has applied to fill the vacancy created by the announcement by Supervisor Jim Brockman that he will be stepping down in September.
Bassett has some experience in government, as she previously served as a village trustee in Elk Rapids, Mich. and on the Antrim County Economic Development Committee. She also served as president of the Elk Rapids Chamber of Commerce.
Applications for the supervisor’s seat are being accepted through Aug. 31 at the District Office at Lake Sumter Landing.
CDD 4 supervisors expect to make an appointment at their Sept. 14 meeting.
