VHA golf cart clinics, video to stress personal responsibility on multi-modal paths

The Villages Homeowners Association is in the process of updating its golf cart safety video so that it will stress personal responsibility on the multi-modal paths.

“The upgrading of instructional information is constantly being reviewed to make it more informative and stressing the personal responsibility aspects of safety on the multi-modal paths and the evolution of new safety equipment,” said VHA President Fred Briggs.

The VHA has also offered its support to the Multi-Modal Path Discussion Group.

“We are willing to participate in any discussions that will improve safety on the paths where they think our input would be of value,” Briggs said.

The Multi-Modal Path Discussion Group includes representation from Community Development Districts 1 through 10 and the Amenity Authority Committee. It has been wrestling with the topic of striping on the 42 miles of multi-modal paths in The Villages, but this week decided to put striping to bed. The group indicated it will continue to meet periodically to discuss issues pertaining to the multi-modal paths.

The VHA’s popular Golf Cart Safety Clinic is held at 9 a.m. on the third Wednesday of each month.

“The last class we had to turn some residents away because we reached the room capacity,” Briggs said.

The next VHA Golf Cart Safety Clinic is set for Oct. 21. Learn more at http://www.thevha.net
