Suspect with stolen items arrested after allegedly burglarizing vehicle in Oxford Oaks

Jeffrey Joseph Dolence

A suspect was arrested after allegedly burglarizing a vehicle in Oxford Oaks.

Jeffrey Joseph Dolence, 45, is facing felony charges of burglary and grand theft following his arrest last week by Sumter County sheriff’s deputies.

The Wildwood Police Department responded Thursday morning to a home in the 3200 block of Sennett Circle in the upscale community catering to young professionals. A 2016 Honda utility vehicle had been burglarized. A wallet containing $300 in cash and a bank card was taken, as well as a “Honda First Aid” kit containing jumper cables.

Dolence and a woman went to the Kangaroo at U.S. 301 and County Road 472, where the woman attempted to use the credit card. It did not work, so they went to Sunoco station at U.S. 301 and State Road 44, where they were able to purchase fuel using the stolen card.

Dolence and the woman were identified by images captured by video surveillance. He was arrested later that day.

He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $7,000 bond.

Dolence, who previously lived with his parents in the Village of Chatham, had been free on $25,000 bond after his arrest in March after allegedly threatening a woman with a gun.
