Summerfield woman arrested on DUI charge after rear-end collision

Summerfield woman arrested on DUI charge
Renee Lynn Reiner

A 56-year-old Summerfield woman was arrested Friday night on a drunk driving charge after her vehicle rear-ended another vehicle.

The accident occurred shortly after 9 p.m. on U.S. 27 at Picciola Road in Leesburg.

A Leesburg police officer arrived at the scene and found Renee Lynn Reiner of 10290 SE 138th Pl Road, whose speech was slurred and appeared to have been drinking, according to the accident report. She failed field sobriety exercises.

A witness told police that after the accident, Reiner had been seen removing a bottle from the passenger area of her car and putting it into the trunk of her car, the arrest report indicated. An inventory of the car later turned up a bottle of vodka.

She refused to submit to a breath test. She denied she had been drinking and said she had just started taking Xanax, according to the arrest report.

She was arrested on a charge of DUI with property damage. She was booked at the Lake County Jail  and later released after posting $1,000 bond.
