Marion County sheriff’s deputies arrested a 16-year old Monday after he demanded money from a man and threatened him with a serrated steak knife.
Steven Anthony Foster of Summerfield has been charged with one count of robbery with a deadly weapon.
A 71-year-old man was in the driveway of his residence located in the 6100 block of SE 143rd Place in Summerfield when a young male, later identified as defendant Foster, approached him. Foster demanded money from the victim, and the victim said he would not give him any money and asked him to leave his residence. Foster then pulled a serrated steak knife, about 10 inches in length, halfway out of the pocket of his jacket. The victim then armed himself with his pocket knife in an effort to defend himself. Foster laughed and walked away, telling the victim, “You won’t forget me.”
Shortly after the incident, Foster’s mother brought her son back to the victim’s house after she heard what her son had done. Deputies then arrested Foster, who still had the steak knife in his possession. Foster is currently being held in the Marion County Juvenile Detention Center.
