A Village of Sabal Chase woman is accused of attacking two people over the age of 65 while she was intoxicated Wednesday afternoon.

Sumter County sheriff’s deputies were called at about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday to a home on Golden Grove Drive in the Village of Sabal Chase.

The two victims, both over the age of 65, told deputies that Phyllis Blakeley was intoxicated and angry when she pushed one of the victims in the back and he fell to the ground. While he was crawling to a bedroom to get back on his feet, the other victim was calling Blakeley’s daughter to alert her to the situation when Blakeley attempted to take the woman’s phone, scratching her hand, according to the arrest report. Both victims signed forms indicating they wished to see Blakeley prosecuted.

She is facing two felony counts of battery of a person over the age of 65. She was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. She has no prior battery arrests.
