Robert B. “R.B.” Coulter Jr.

Robert B. “R.B.” Coulter Jr., 72, of The Villages, Florida, died June 13, 2014,

Born in Spring City, Tennessee, R.B. was the son of Robert Blaine Coulter Sr. and Reba King Coulter Hendren.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a Disabled Vietnam Veteran.

R.B. was a civil engineer and retired from the Marta Subway.

He was a Veterans Affairs volunteer, a sheriff’s volunteer, emergency consultant and an amateur radio supporter.

He supported the arts and theater and was a singer and trombone player.

His hobbies were building and repairing organs.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepfather, Elmer Hendren.

He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Odie Braden of LaFollette; stepsister, Jean Hays, of Knoxville; nieces and their families; Teresa and Ben Walker, Pamela and Richard McCrary and son, Jesse; Sharon and Brent Shumaker and daughters, Britton and Julia, all of Knoxville, and special aunt, Gladys Kimbrough.

He will be missed by many cousins and friends.

A ceremony in honor of him was held in The Villages, Fla.

A graveside memorial service with military honors was held at the Spring City Cemetery, Tenn., with the Rev. Paul Forgey officiating.
