To the Editor:
Response to Villager Marsha Shearer regarding Trump’s tweets: Unless you personally know President Trump you have no credibility in stating that he isn’t a decent human being, and you have no business passing judgment. I’ve yet to hear President Trump make any statement contrary to the Bill of Rights. Perhaps you don’t understand that the U.S. Constitution applies EXCLUSIVELY to U.S. Citizens, not illegal aliens or people who want to travel here. Perhaps you conflate strong leadership with “bullying,” or defending one’s character against those spewing vulgarities on so-called “news” networks as “bullying” – I don’t. While most of the childish attacks against him aren’t worthy of response I don’t blame him for his retorts. Perhaps you and others who bear such hatred for the man should try offering the same respect FOR the office that you demand FROM the person holding it. If you weren’t so blinded by your own negativity you might just see why so many millions of people disagree with your perspective.
