The manager of a Brownwood ice cream parlor has been arrested on a felony charge, accused of pocketing $1,700 from the night deposit.
Kelsey Rae Banta, 24, of Fruitland Park, was arrested Wednesday by Wildwood police.
The investigation began Jan. 9, when Scooples Ice Cream Parlor and Restaurant owner Fred Karimipour discovered that the cash sales from Sunday, Jan. 4 were missing.
Wildwood police questioned Banta who provided her version of events, which did not match the video surveillance, according to the arrest report.
She was booked on a charge of grand theft at the Sumter County Detention Center. Bond was set at $2,000.
