A 62-year-old man found squatting in a Village of Orange Blossom Gardens home has been sentenced to five days in jail.
Michael Witkowski had been found living in a home at 1603 Magnolia Ave. that had belonged to his late father. In May, The Villages purchased the manufactured home, which had been placed there in 1986. Witkowski was found living in the home this past weekend.
Witkowski entered a plea of no contest this week to a charge of trespassing. He was ordered to serve five days in jail. He will have to pay a $50 per day incarceration fee. He will also have to pay $223 in court costs and a $200 public defender fee.
He completed his jail sentence Wednesday.
