Man to escape prosecution after alleged attack on 85-year-old woman in Village of Santo Domingo

A 51-year-old man will escape prosecution in a case in which he was arrested after an alleged altercation in December in the Village of Santo Domingo.

Keith Van Zandt Leeper, who lives with an 85-year-old woman on Dario Court, had been arrested on a charge of aggravated battery of a person over the age of 65.

The woman said Leeper had taken her cane and struck her on the upper left arm because he was angry after she confronted him about his level of intoxication.

Last week in Sumter County Court, it was announced by the prosecutor’s office that no information would be filed in the case.
