A man was arrested Christmas night after allegedly attacking his mother at the Villages of Parkwood.
A red Cadillac, driven by Brian Christopher Davis, 32, a resident of the Villages of Parkwood, drew the attention of a Wildwood police officer at about 8:30 p.m. after a report of a suspicious vehicle in the subdivision. Davis got out of his vehicle and appeared to be “highly agitated” as he approached a woman, later identified as his mother. He lunged at her in what appeared to be an attempt to prevent her from speaking to a passenger in his vehicle, the report indicated. He then pushed her away from his vehicle.
It appeared Davis had been drinking. He began yelling profanities at a police officer who approached him. It was determined Davis was driving on a suspended license.
Davis was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on charges of disorderly intoxication, battery and driving while license suspended. Bond was set at $15,000.
