Man arrested after allegedly pushing shopping cart full of stolen merchandise out of Target

A man was arrested after allegedly pushing a shopping cart full of stolen merchandise out of Target at Rolling Acres Plaza in The Villages.

A woman flagged down a Lady Lake police officer at 9:35 a.m. Tuesday, pointing out that a man later identified as 31-year-old Robert Lewis was pushing the shopping cart with store employees in pursuit. Lewis was detained by the officer and later arrested on a charge of grand theft.

The store manager at Target said the cart contained $556 worth of merchandise, according to the arrest report.

Lewis was booked at the Lake County Jail on $2,000 bond.
