LWV encourages residents to join March For Our Lives

To the Editor:

To the Members of the Tri-County Community,

we have read about the growth of the student movement and seen the marches on television. The next big event is a nationwide March For Our Lives scheduled for Saturday, March 24.

And now for the best part–you do NOT have to watch the march on television. You do NOT have to travel to Ocala or Orlando! Students from schools in the area are planning a local march right here in The Villages. This will occur on Saturday, March 24, 12-2 p.m., Lake Sumter Landing, The Villages.

This is a nonpartisan issue, and we hope that you will come out and support the young people of our community. One hundred years ago, we marched so that women could vote; this generation is now asking that we support them. Let’s show our support on Saturday, March 24, 2018, 12-2 p.m., Lake Sumter Landing, The Villages.

Beth Hicks, President
LWV of The Villages/Tri-County Area
