Longtime CDD supervisor announces decision to withdraw her name from November ballot

Sally Moss

Longtime Community Development District 6 Supervisor Sally Moss announced Friday that she will with withdraw her name from the November ballot.

Moss, who has served for a dozen years as a CDD supervisor, was appointed Monday by Gov. Rick Scott to the Sumter County School Board. She will serve out the unexpired term of Villager Haydn Evans which will end in November. Evans died in February.

Moss had already pre-filed to run again for CDD 6. However, she has since decided to run for the school board seat. Her name cannot appear twice on the same ballot.

“I wish I was eligible to run for both offices,” she said.

Moss said she hoped her announcement might prompt residents of CDD 6 to explore the possibility of running for her seat.

Fellow CDD 6 Supervisor John Callandro noted that potential candidates have until noon June 18 to file paperwork with the Sumter County Supervisor of Elections Office.
