The Rainbow Family & Friends Club and Equality Florida will be co-sponsoring a benefit on Friday, Oct. 2 at the Lake Miona Recreation Center.

The fundraiser will feature co-founder and CEO of Equality Florida, Nadine Smith, as the guest speaker who will discuss ongoing issues faced by LGBT communities in Florida.

Smith is known for championing LGBT rights, such as gay adoption, and fighting discriminations, based on sexual orientation and gender identity, through Equality Florida.

The event will be from 6 to 8 p.m. and will also have appetizers and beverages provided by John Michael’s Catering and live music performed by Petrina.

Neither a Villages ID or tickets will be required, but an RSVP in advance is necessary by calling (407) 376-4801 or visiting www.eqfl.org/thevillages.
