Lady Lake police officers successfully nabbed a woman who tried to outrun law enforcement.
Tracie Diane Slate, 33, of Fruitland Park, was taken into custody shortly after 2 a.m. after making a left-hand turn in violation of a red light at U.S. Hwy. 27/441 and Rolling Acres Road, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department.
The chase began in Leesburg where a Lake County sheriff’s deputy tried to pull over Slate’s red Hyundai, but she fled. A Fruitland Park police officer notified the Lady Lake Police Department that the vehicle was entering the town’s jurisdiction.
Slate was transported by Lake EMS to Leesburg Regional Medical Center, where she was evaluated and cleared. She was then booked at the Lake County Jail on two felony counts of fleeing and eluding. She was released after posting $10,000 bond.
