Lady Lake man jailed after allegedly striking 87-year-old mother

A Lady Lake man is being held on $10,000 bond following his arrest Sunday at the Circle K service station on the Historic Side of The Villages.

James Godfrey Nicholson, 49, was arrested by Lady Lake police after he allegedly struck his 87-year-old mother who was trying to take him to church.

Nicholson began yelling and arguing with his mother and they pulled over their vehicle at the service station while they were driving to church.

In the parking lot, Nicholson allegedly struck his mother repeatedly.

He is facing a felony charge of battery on a person 65 years of age or older. He was booked at the Lake County Jail.
