Judge sentences woman who shoplifted more than $300 in items at Publix at Grand Traverse Plaza

A 35-year-old Fruitland Park woman has been sentenced to three years probation in connection with a Sept. 8 shoplifting incident at Publix at Grand Traverse Plaza in The Villages.

Linsey Cook Adams was stopped by store management when she attempted to leave the store with $325.07 in merchandise in a shopping cart.

Last month in Sumter County Court, she was sentenced to three years probation.

In 2014 she had been sentenced to six months in jail in connection with a 2012 felony case in which she had been charged with attempting to obtain a controlled substance through forgery.
