Jailer arrested after allegedly providing food, cigarettes, chewing tobacco to inmate

An employee of the Sumter County Detention Center was arrested Monday morning after an investigationĀ  revealed she had supplied food, cigarettes and chewing tobacco to an inmate.

Former Detention Support Specialist Kimberly McSwain, 47, of Groveland was arrested Monday morning on a charge of smuggling contraband into a detention facility. She was booked at the jail on $2,000 bond.

Her employment had been terminated March 12.
