Havana restaurant is closed, but will reopen as Hemingway’s at Havana.

The Havana country club restaurant is temporarily closed, but when it reopens as Hemingway’s at Havana, you can expect some big changes.

An all-star cast of Villages restaurant experts will be on board when the restaurant reopens and rebrands.

Here’s the lineup of the heavy hitters for the new restaurant:

• John McDonough who was originally brought in to run Katie Belle’s and now owns the Legacy Restaurant at the Nancy Lopez Country Club.

• Jim Schalk, who was behind the Augustine’s restaurant several years ago in Spanish Springs Town Square.

• Chef Chris Lipa who has worked his magic at Lopez, Arnold Palmer Country Club and the Angler’s Club, the Morse family’s private club at Lake Sumter Landing.

The decor at Hemingway’s at Havana will remain the same, but you will see big changes to the menu.

The new fare will reflect Ernest Hemingway’s travels. The menu will offer the flavors of Key West, Cuba and Spain.

Drink specials will accompany the unique menu.

An opening day has not been set.

Jim Schalk and Chris Lipa, from left, will be the driving force behind the reopening of Havana as Hemingway's at Havana.
