Former Spanish Springs restaurant set to re-open in new location

A former Spanish Springs restaurant that was forced to close its doors last year, will reopen this week under its new name and at its new Lady Lake location.

Athens NY restaurant, which closed this past November after opting not to renew their lease in The Villages, will reopen as “Athena NY Diner” along U.S. 441 this Friday. The new restaurant will take up residence in the building formerly owned by Texas Stockyards, which closed its doors earlier this year after three years of operation.

That particular location has changed hands multiple times in the last decade. Its newest tenant will feature American, Greek and barbecue cuisine.
